Tyre Repair Service
Not every tyre problem requires a full replacement. NeedATyre offers professional on-site tyre repair for commercial vehicles, carried out by qualified mobile fitters who assess the damage and determine whether a safe, lasting repair is possible. Where the puncture meets industry repair standards, we fix it on the spot, saving you the cost of a new tyre without compromising on safety.
Our fitters follow the British Standard BS AU 159 for tyre repairs. This means we only repair punctures in the central tread area of the tyre, where the damage is within repairable limits. Sidewall damage, large gashes, run-flat damage, and punctures close to the shoulder of the tyre cannot be safely repaired and will require a replacement. Our fitters will always give you an honest assessment and explain your options before carrying out any work.
Commercial tyre repair is particularly cost-effective for fleet operators. A repaired tyre can continue to deliver its full tread life, and a professional repair is just as reliable as an unrepaired tyre when done correctly. If you suspect a slow puncture or have a vehicle with a flat, get in touch and we will send a mobile fitter to assess and repair the tyre on site.

When can a tyre be repaired instead of replaced?
A tyre can usually be repaired if the puncture is in the central tread area, the hole is no larger than 6mm in diameter, and there is no internal damage from running flat. Sidewall damage, bead damage, and large cuts always require replacement.
How long does a commercial tyre repair take?
A standard puncture repair on a commercial tyre typically takes 30 to 45 minutes on site, including removal, inspection, repair and refitting. The exact time depends on the tyre position and the nature of the damage.
Is a repaired tyre safe to use at motorway speeds?
Yes. A professionally repaired tyre that meets British Standard BS AU 159 is safe for continued use at its rated speed. The repair is permanent and the tyre can be used for its remaining tread life.
What if the tyre cannot be repaired?
If our fitter determines that the tyre is beyond repair, they will explain why and provide a quote for a replacement tyre on the spot. We carry a range of common commercial sizes on our service vehicles so a replacement can often be fitted immediately.
